Priddy’s Hard and Royal Clarence Yard

Connected by the Millennium Bridge, Priddy’s Hard and Royal Clarence Yard form one of Gosport’s most distinctive waterfront neighbourhoods, where beautifully preserved naval buildings sit alongside modern homes and vibrant cultural spaces.

Once central to Britain’s naval supply and armament history, Priddy’s Hard has been transformed into a cultural hub featuring artisan companies, waterfront restaurants, and businesses housed in its historic buildings including the Explosion Museum of Naval Firepower and the Powder Monkey micro-brewery.

Royal Clarence Yard, once a hub for Royal Navy food supplies as well as Queen Victoria’s disembarkation point for her journeys to the Isle of Wight, is now a thriving cultural quarter. Waterfront cafes, bars and restaurants face across to the Royal Clarence Marina, and buildings such as the Rum Store, once used to house the Royal Navy’s rum rations, are being redeveloped.
