Gosport offers a variety of guided and self-led walking itineraries that bring the town’s rich history, natural beauty, and community spirit to life.

🥾 Gosport Healthy Walks

Led by trained volunteers from Community First, these free weekly walks are designed to suit all abilities and promote wellbeing. Walk at a pace that suits you, improve your fitness, and enjoy the company of others. Routes include:

  • Gosport Circular (Mondays)
  • Forton Circular (Tuesdays)
  • Lee-on-the-Solent Stroll (Wednesdays)
  • St George’s Barracks Circular (Thursdays)
  • Privett Park Circular (Fridays)
  • Monthly History Walks (Last Sunday of each month)

Follow the group’s Facebook page for the most up to date itinerary. No booking is required – just turn up and enjoy the fresh air and friendly company.

⛓️ Millennium Walk and Waterfront trail

The Millennium Walk is a picturesque route that takes in much of our historic waterfront, and was built in 1999 to mark the new millennium. Look out for the chain link bricks along the waterfront.

The Waterfront trail takes a similar route, giving you the chance to explore much of the waterfront and connecting key local landmarks like Priddy’s Hard, Bastion No.1, and the Submarine Museum.

In partnership with Seekers Create, the Walking Past project offers five immersive heritage walks, available as free podcasts. Explore these routes, and listen to the story of each walk on the Seekers Create website:

  • Waterfront North – Explore Clarence Marina, Priddy’s Hard, and the Explosion Museum.
  • Waterfront South – Discover Haslar Bridge, the Submarine Museum, and Trinity Green.
  • Queen Victoria’s Railway – A journey through Stoke Road and Crescent Gardens.
  • Diving into Stanley Park – Featuring the Diving Museum and Alverstoke Village.

This creative trail celebrates Gosport’s maritime legacy through six key waterfront locations, each brought to life with stories, art, and local voices in partnership with Seekers Create. Highlights include:

  • Yachting Marina
  • Trinity Green

Ideal for families and festival-goers, this trail is part of the annual Gosport Marine Festival and showcases the town’s vibrant coastal culture.
