The Raw Pet Deli was born from Clare Woodford’s lifelong passion for animal wellbeing.

After her own dog, Zuma, recovered from a serious illness thanks to a raw diet, Clare dedicated herself to understanding natural nutrition and spent 15 years helping pet owners transform their animals’ health. When a shop unit opened opposite her home in Hardway, she seized the moment and launched The Raw Pet Deli, quickly becoming a trusted name in Gosport.

Just a year later, the shop won, ‘Best Independent Business’ at the 2025 Gosport Awards, recognising the care, knowledge, and authenticity she brings to every customer conversation.

Today, Clare stocks only independent, traceable brands she believes in, offering everything from affordable raw meals to premium blends enriched with vegetables and hemp oil.

Customers visit not just for food, but also for guidance. Clare is known for helping pets overcome itching, digestive issues, and long‑standing health problems through simple dietary changes. Her dream is to expand into a larger unit and eventually offer deliveries, making natural feeding accessible to even more families. As she puts it.
