Local engineering company Blanchard Wells will be creating a new manufacturing facility to develop plans for a:

• Technology Centre – looking at cutting-edge construction methods including lift cores, stairwells and more using lower-carbon concrete.
• Construction Hub – a new office space for Blanchard Wells professional teams and construction specialists, with space to support local start-ups.

The work on the development will employ around 200 people, including local apprentices, and is expected to be completed in 2027.

Future phases of development at Daedalus will also include the restoration of old barracks into new homes, and the redevelopment of the Hovercraft Museum.
