My First Steps on Lee‑on‑the‑Solent High Street is a bright, welcoming children’s boutique specialising in organic babywear and eco‑friendly wooden toys. The shop is filled with soft organic cottons, sustainable materials and beautifully made gifts for little ones, all chosen with care by owner Jan Coupe, who says, “We only stock eco‑friendly toys and organic baby wear… from farm to factory, organic cotton is better for the environment and the people who farm it – farmers being paid properly, Fair-trade ethical labour right through to the finished product.”
Jan opened the shop after discovering how beneficial organic fabrics were for her grandchildren with eczema, and the idea quickly grew into a mission to offer families high‑quality, planet‑friendly alternatives.
