Walpole Park is a beautiful urban retreat with a large boating lake, open spaces, and gardens. This central park close to Gosport Town Centre, is popular for picnics, family outings, and community events. Its tranquil environment is perfect for relaxation or a leisurely stroll.

  1. The park’s lake is used for model boat sailing and wildlife watching. Formally part of the Rampart Fortifications & moats that encircled the 18th/ 19th Century town of Gosport.
  2. It was originally named Horsefield and used to exercise military horses before being landscaped in the 19th century.
