The Gosport Millennium Promenade's focal point is the Time Space, a huge sundial and light clock. Inspired by Einstein's theory of the relativity of time and space, a tall mast at the centre (the 'here and now point') will indicate the time on the paving below.

The Time Space is physically and spiritually linked to the Holy Trinity Church with a line of paving symbolising the year 0, the birth of Christ and the start point for measurement of modern time.

A line of paving along a new pier on the Haslar Marina wave screen symbolises the year 2000 and provides a physical and spiritual link to the Harbour and Millennium celebrations.

Events in Gosport's history are depicted within the paving surface and low energy L.E.D. lighting enables the Time Space to function as a light clock during the evening.
